Make the Most of Your Brand
Seminar by Paul Wilson

6 September 2005

Small business operators have the chance to find out how to create a magnetic brand at a Small Business September seminar on September 12, Minister for Small Business David Campbell said today.

“This seminar will show small businesspeople that they don’t need multi-million dollar budgets or a degree in marketing to make the most of their brand,” Mr Campbell said.

“Participants will learn the basics of branding, including what is a brand, creating a brand, types of brands and conducting a brand audit.

“They will also learn that branding goes beyond a company’s logo, website and brochures and includes the way staff answer the telephone, what staff wear and how and what they say.

“The seminar presenter, Paul Wilson, creative director of Template Central, will also discuss the advantages that small business brands have over brands owned by large businesses.”

This seminar will be held at the Trade and Investment Centre, level 44, 225 George Street, Sydney.

Small Business September is an initiative of the NSW Government to highlight the enormous contribution made by small business to the State and its economy.

Small business owners and operators across the State are invited to take part in more than 300 events, seminars and workshops organised especially for them to update their knowledge and skills and extend their business networks.

Small Business September is organised by the NSW Department of State and Regional Development, with more than 100 partners offering events. Platinum sponsors are Australia Post, Australian Business Limited and Westpac, and gold sponsors are Telstra and Austrade.
